Is the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

Generally — the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. With 30% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some attractive market availability to work with.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people have found dependable enough to keep and recommend, especially when it comes to everyday use and ownership confidence. For used shoppers, that makes long-term ownership risk manageable, but only if you choose carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you focus on well-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 30% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 480 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.84% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,945 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $16,945 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,138 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, there may be less room for appreciation in the short term, so condition and mileage will matter even more when it comes time to resell. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Tiguan makes the most sense if you want a roomy, refined compact SUV with strong practicality and you can find one priced near the lower end of the market. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2019 remains a sensible target when you want space, comfort, and a more premium feel.
