How much does the 2019 Volkswagen Golf cost?

There are 98 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Golf a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Volkswagen Golf earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a well-rounded hatchback. The overview points to a model that blends everyday usability with a genuinely sporty character, while still keeping an understated personality. It also highlights strong performance, a high level of equipment, and a reputation for holding its value well, which makes it especially appealing if you want a performance car that does not feel stripped out or compromised. With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Golf reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also notes that coolant leaks and water pump failures are not unknown, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and cooling-system condition. For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s overall concept and more about finding one that has been cared for properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volkswagen Golf?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 98 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.44% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,491 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volkswagen Golf's resale value?

The current average of $15,967 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,031 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy at the current average, there is less cushion for immediate appreciation, so resale strength will depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance than on broad market momentum. Even so, the model’s strong equipment and performance-focused appeal should help it stay relevant with shoppers looking for a well-equipped hatchback.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volkswagen Golf or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a strong choice if you want a well-equipped, sporty hatchback and you value a softer used-market price than last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
