How much does the 2019 Volkswagen Golf cost?

There are 117 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Golf a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Volkswagen Golf earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a compact hatchback that blends performance, refinement, and a high level of equipment. It is described as fast and fun to drive, with lots of power and grip, while also offering an upscale appearance inside and out. If you want something that feels more special than an ordinary hatchback, that combination is a major part of its appeal. The market also shows 27.4% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Golf reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to a few practical cautions, including touchscreen software issues that can cause slow responses or crashes. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but you should pay close attention to infotainment behaviour and overall condition before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volkswagen Golf?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 117 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.16% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,538 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volkswagen Golf's resale value?

The current average of $15,538 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,313 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you may need to be more competitive on asking price to stand out. On the other hand, the Golf’s strong equipment and performance-focused appeal can still help it attract interest from shoppers looking for a well-equipped compact hatchback.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volkswagen Golf or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a compact hatchback that feels more upscale and engaging than the average used car, the 2019 is the one to prioritise. If your main goal is to stretch your budget, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry price, but the 2019 remains the better pick when you value equipment, refinement, and a strong ownership reputation.
