For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying a premium for that reputation while still needing to watch for the Tacoma’s known compromises in space and power.

• Inventory: There are 135 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.07% compared with last year.

What is the 2019 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $38,034 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,646 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the Tacoma’s still-strong reputation should help support demand, but the current average shows you should not expect a dramatic premium just because it is a Tacoma. If you buy well today, you may still have a solid path to resale later because shoppers continue to value this truck’s durability and reputation.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.22/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 25.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.22/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $40,148 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $38,034 CAD average.
• It adds useful design and technology updates.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable with the Tacoma’s rugged, no-frills character. If you are price-sensitive, the 2019 is the smarter path; if you want the newer model-year updates and do not mind paying more, the 2020 is the alternative to consider.
