That softer pricing can be good news if you're buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. The current range suggests the Highlander is holding reasonably steady rather than collapsing, which is helpful if you plan to own it for several years. Strong owner satisfaction should also help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.74/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.74/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $34,631 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $29,479 CAD average.
• It was redesigned for a quieter, more refined ride.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are focused on comfort, practicality, and strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want the redesigned 2020's more premium feel, that newer model is the better upgrade path; otherwise, the 2019 is the smarter buy for price-sensitive shoppers.
