How much does the 2019 Ford Explorer cost?

There are 325 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Ford Explorer a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.6/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. Review feedback highlights value for money, powerful engine options, and advanced features, while the Explorer’s roomy, family-friendly layout makes it a practical fit if you want an SUV that can carry people and gear without feeling dull to drive. The market also shows 31.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Ford Explorer reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Review feedback specifically points to reliability as a strength, along with a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. That said, used buyers should still budget for normal age-related wear and inspect any example carefully, since long-term ownership risk always depends on maintenance history and how the vehicle was used.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Explorer?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 325 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.32% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,792 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Explorer's resale value?

The current average of $20,792 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,770 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Explorer easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current pricing trend means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance records. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still help support values, especially for trims and configurations that shoppers want most.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Explorer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $26,742 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $20,792 CAD average.
• It adds an all-new chassis with more technology and hybrid and high-performance powertrains.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want a roomy, well-liked SUV at a lower entry price. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer platform, the 2020 is the stronger upgrade path; if price matters most, the 2019 remains the smarter buy.
