The current average of $40,780 CAD sits slightly below last year's $43,294 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also suggests future sellers may have less room to benefit from appreciation. Even so, the 4Runner’s reputation for reliability and capability helps support demand in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $43,699 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $40,780 CAD average.
• It adds standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line:
The 2019 is the better primary pick if you want the strongest balance of price, owner satisfaction, and proven capability. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2019 still makes sense because it sits below the 2020 on average while keeping the same rugged appeal.
