Is the 2019 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Subaru Forester earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

That lines up well with its role as a practical compact SUV for families and everyday use, especially if you value confidence in poor weather and an easy-to-live-with cabin.

Is the 2019 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, with strong confidence around its all-wheel drive capability and overall usability. The recurring praise for comfort, visibility, and safety also suggests a model that many owners feel they can count on over the long term.

For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction usually lowers ownership risk, especially if you choose a well-maintained example with a clean service history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 203 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.39% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,922 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $21,550 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,783 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can be good news if you're buying now but means future resale gains may be more limited if prices stay soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you should focus on condition, mileage, and maintenance records to help protect value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Forester is the better choice if you want the updated model-year package with strong owner approval, solid market availability, and a price that has eased from last year. If you're especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower entry price outweighs the 2019's stronger satisfaction signal and updated feel.
