Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible choice if you want a practical compact SUV with strong owner approval and a market that still offers some deal potential. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2016’s balance of value and satisfaction.
