CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC
Summary
With 22 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,442 CAD, 40.9% of 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC 4.75 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC stands out as a compact luxury SUV that blends style, comfort, and practicality in a way that feels distinctly Mercedes-Benz. It shares its basic platform and many parts with the C-Class sedan and wagon, and its shape is notably sleeker and longer than the GLK it replaced, which helps give it a more polished look and a more usable cabin. It is also a five-seat SUV with standard all-wheel drive in Canada, making it a straightforward choice for buyers who want premium feel without giving up everyday versatility.
For 2019, the GLC’s appeal comes from its broad mix of powertrains and equipment. The lineup includes a 2.0-litre four-cylinder GLC 300 with 241 horsepower, the AMG GLC 43 with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 producing 362 horsepower, and the GLC 350e plug-in hybrid with a total system output of 320 hp. All versions use a nine-speed automatic transmission. The cabin is also well equipped, with standard heated and electrically adjustable front seats, leatherette upholstery, LED headlights, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, plus a range of driver-assistance features. That combination makes it feel upscale even in lower trims.
There are a few trade-offs, though. The GLC’s premium image comes with pricing that can climb quickly, and its reputation for reliability is not especially strong. Some owners have also reported suspension and electrical issues, while others have mentioned piston and cylinder problems with GLC 300 models. Even so, for shoppers who value a smooth drive, a comfortable interior, and a compact SUV that feels more refined than utilitarian, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC remains an appealing option.

The GLC 300 drives smooth and easy, is roomy and comfortable, yet is not huge. Most 2019s will have some warranty left, which is a great plus!

With 36.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still a meaningful amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?
Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people enjoy living with over time, especially because of its smooth driving character and premium feel. At the same time, the broader ownership picture suggests you should pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, since used luxury SUVs can carry more long-term ownership risk if prior care has been inconsistent. If you want one, a thorough pre-purchase inspection is especially worthwhile.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and focused.
- Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 283 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.03% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $27,730 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?
The current average of $27,734 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,260 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to protect value later. The GLC’s premium positioning and broad appeal should help support demand, but future resale will still depend heavily on mileage, service records, and overall condition.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.03% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a compact luxury SUV with a polished cabin, strong owner approval, and a market that currently favours careful shoppers, the 2019 is a sensible choice. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of price, condition, and service history.
