CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Mazda CX-3
Summary
With 129 currently listed for sale and an average price of $17,631 CAD, 24.8% of 2019 Mazda CX-3 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Mazda CX-3 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Mazda CX-3 stands out as a small crossover that leans hard into Mazda’s sporty character. Owners praise its lively, fun-to-drive feel and stylish design, and the model’s fuel economy is another clear draw. It also benefits from a solid list of driver-assist safety features and strong safety ratings, which helps it appeal to buyers who want a compact SUV that feels a little more polished and engaging than many rivals.
For 2019, the CX-3’s appeal is also tied to its equipment and powertrain choices. The available 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine was paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and the model could be had with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Standard features included 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, keyless entry, an 8.8-inch infotainment screen with Mazda Connect, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims added useful comfort and convenience items such as dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a Bose 12-speaker audio system, a head-up display, leather seats, and a power liftgate.
Its main weakness is space. The CX-3 is repeatedly described as cramped inside, especially in the back seat, and it does not offer much cargo room. That makes it best suited to buyers who value style, efficiency, and a more entertaining driving experience over maximum practicality.

| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $17,568 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $17,199 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $19,232 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $19,227 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −8.63% |

There are 133 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2019 Mazda CX-3 a good car?
Yes — owners give it a 5/5 rating, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The 2019 Mazda CX-3 is especially appealing if you want a small crossover that feels sporty and fun to drive, with stylish design and good fuel economy. It also fits well if you value a compact SUV with a more polished, engaging character than many rivals. With 23.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2019 Mazda CX-3 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on the car’s performance, efficiency, and overall day-to-day satisfaction. For used buyers, that kind of consistency suggests lower long-term ownership risk, especially if you prioritise a vehicle you can count on.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mazda CX-3?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 23.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 133 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.63% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $17,199 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Mazda CX-3's resale value?
The current average of $17,568 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,227 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy at the right number now, you may have less downside risk later because the market has already adjusted. The CX-3’s strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it comes time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 23.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.63% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market softness, the 2019 is the one to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2019’s stronger market position and owner feedback.
