Is the 2019 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 2019 MINI Cooper earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise the fun driving experience, sporty performance, and stylish design. The model also stands out for its unique personality and good value, which makes it appealing if you want something compact but characterful. For you, that means it fits best if you prioritise driving enjoyment and distinctive style over maximum practicality.

With 39.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2019 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels enjoyable and dependable in daily use, with many drivers happy enough to recommend it for the long haul. At the same time, the same feedback highlights the complexity of its features, so you should expect a used example to reward careful inspection and a complete service history.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the driving experience and more about making sure the car has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 93 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,803 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $18,894 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,978 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar right away. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year's average. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still help support values, especially for cars with desirable equipment and clean histories.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,816 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,894 CAD average.
• It adds an electric powertrain option for buyers wanting a greener MINI.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better pick if you want the lower average price and a solid pool of value-oriented listings. If you are willing to spend more for the added electric option, the 2020 is the more forward-looking choice.
