Is the 2019 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Kia Sportage earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, comfort, and spacious interior, and many also like the good handling and available luxurious-feeling features. That lines up well if you want a practical family SUV with room for four adults in both rows and a comfortable day-to-day driving experience. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about choosing a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 236 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,022 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $15,475 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,170 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sportage has become more affordable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer resale environment than they would have a year ago. If you buy now, the lower entry price can help offset some depreciation risk. The fact that demand is still supported by solid owner satisfaction should help keep the model relevant in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want a comfortable, well-liked compact SUV and you can find one priced near the lower end of the market. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2019 remains a sensible choice when condition, price, and owner satisfaction line up.
