Is the 2019 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find comfortable, smooth, and dependable in day-to-day use, with the kind of value and feature content that helps it feel trouble-free for many shoppers. At the same time, the model’s history includes transmission concerns, so a careful test drive matters if you want to reduce long-term ownership risk on a used example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 408 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.09% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,709 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $17,718 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,867 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Cherokee has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about pricing if they want to move the vehicle quickly. The softer market can work against resale strength in the short term, especially if comparable listings remain plentiful. Even so, the model’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the most polished version of this generation’s Cherokee with stronger standard tech and a more modern cabin, the 2019 is the one to prioritise. If your main goal is to spend less, a nearby year may be worth a look, but you’ll want to balance that against the 2019’s improved usability and strong owner feedback.
