Is the 2019 Hyundai Kona reliable?

Owners rate it 4.54/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights a comfortable ride, solid performance, and a generally trouble-free ownership experience, along with good fuel economy. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, since long-term ownership risk is usually tied more to how a specific vehicle was cared for than to the model name alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Kona?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings if you stay selective.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 273 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,889 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $15,890 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,959 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Kona has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today's average, your resale position will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and equipment. A well-kept example with desirable features should still attract attention, especially in a market where shoppers value efficiency and available all-wheel drive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.54/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.54/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,582 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $15,890 CAD average.
• It adds more standard driver assists.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully within a softer market. If you can stretch for the 2020, it may be worth it for the added standard driver-assist content, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2019 and look for a clean, well-priced example.
