Is the 2019 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and family-friendly features, and many also value the ample cargo space and comfort in the second and third rows. That lines up well with the Pilot’s role as a practical three-row SUV for families who want seating for up to eight and a car-like ride. With 32.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centred on comfort and everyday usability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some drivers have noted minor concerns with soundproofing and transmission performance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 158 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,071 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $25,071 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,134 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale upside may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a future seller, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped. Strong demand from family buyers should still help support pricing, especially for clean examples with desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $29,543 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $25,071 CAD average.
• It adds a more powerful engine and stronger standard safety coverage.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want a family-focused three-row SUV with strong owner satisfaction and a lower average price. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer model’s added power and standard safety equipment, the 2020 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2019 remains the smarter buy.
