The current average of $19,222 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,853 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favourable point, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2019 is the primary year to focus on. If you're especially price-sensitive, it can still be worth comparing nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2019's current market position.
