This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

What is the 2019 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $18,328 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,396 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilises. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside left than a shopper who paid closer to last year’s average. The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Terrain is the better fit if you want a used compact SUV with strong owner approval, a softer price than last year, and enough deal activity to shop selectively. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2019’s stronger market position.
