Is the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a well-liked truck. Owners consistently point to its great features, luxurious feel, and solid performance, while also appreciating its stylish design and comfort. That lines up well if you want a pickup that feels more refined than purely utilitarian, with practical trailering capability and useful connectivity features. Is the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in day-to-day use, with many drivers describing it as solid and trouble-free over time. That said, some owners mention transmission concerns, so you should pay close attention to service records and test-drive behaviour before buying. For used buyers, that means the long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but a careful inspection still matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 GMC Sierra 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 423 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,113 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500's resale value?

The current average of $33,113 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,500 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you’re thinking about resale, the current softness means future depreciation could remain a factor unless demand strengthens. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the newer-generation Sierra’s more refined feel, broad capability, and a market that currently offers some pricing relief. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby older year may be worth considering, but the 2019 is the better fit when you want a more upscale used truck and can find one priced near the lower end of the range.
