Generally — the 4.41/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a well-liked truck. Owners consistently point to its great features, luxurious feel, and solid performance, while the stylish design and comfortable cabin also come through as recurring strengths. If you want a full-size pickup that feels more polished than many rivals and still covers work, daily driving, and premium-trim shopping, this model year fits that brief well. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a truck with unresolved drivetrain concerns or missing equipment that you expected.

What is the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500's resale value?

The current average of $34,663 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,789 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale may depend on how well the market holds up for full-size trucks in this trim and equipment mix. If prices stabilise, a well-kept Sierra 1500 could remain attractive to shoppers who want a more upscale pickup experience. Strong feature content and broad appeal should help, but the current trend suggests sellers may need to price competitively to move the truck later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.41/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.41/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the start of the fifth-generation Sierra with a more upscale feel and a strong owner satisfaction profile, the 2019 is the right place to focus. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and prioritise the best-equipped truck at the lowest clean-history price, since the market still rewards careful shopping.
