Is the 2019 GMC Acadia a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a well-liked used crossover. Owners consistently point to the smooth ride, stylish design, and spacious cabin as the Acadia’s biggest strengths, and those traits line up well if you want a family-oriented SUV with a more manageable footprint than the original Acadia. The broad trim range also gives you flexibility, whether you want something practical, more upscale, or a bit more rugged in appearance. With 35.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2019 GMC Acadia reliable?

The owner feedback also points to a fairly reliable, dependable ownership experience, with comments that suggest it can be a trouble-free choice for long-term use when maintained properly. That said, some reviewers mention a frustrating Shift to Park issue on certain models, so you should pay close attention to how the vehicle behaves during a test drive and inspection. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a vehicle that has unresolved electrical or shift-related concerns.

That price movement suggests the Acadia has already absorbed some of its recent depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell. The model’s broad appeal as a family crossover also helps support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used midsize crossover with a comfortable ride, family-friendly space, and a market that still offers some value, the 2019 is a sensible place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years as well, but the 2019 stands out as a balanced choice when condition and listing price line up.
