Why it stands out
The 2019 GMC Acadia sits in the second generation of the nameplate, which marked the move from a full-size to a midsize SUV. That shift lowered prices, but it also meant the Acadia lost its optional eight-seat configuration. For buyers, the appeal is a family-friendly crossover that still offers a broad trim range, with SLE, SLT, Denali, and a late-addition AT4 version that adds rugged styling elements.
For 2019, the Acadia was available with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine rated at 193 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.6-litre V6 generating 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive were available for most of this generation. The second generation was updated in 2020 with a new infotainment system that included Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, so a 2019 model does not yet have that update. Even so, the Acadia’s overall reputation in this generation is fairly strong, and owners often praise its smooth ride, stylish design, and spacious interior.
There are trade-offs, though. The Acadia is not especially exciting to drive, and older versions of the model are noted for below-average fuel economy. Some reviewers also found the third row cramped, which is worth keeping in mind if maximum passenger space is a priority.

So far nothing but love for this car. It works well with my growing children. 3rd row seat very accessible. Features are top notch. Highly recommend.

The GMC Acadia is a stylish, good looking SUV. I purchased the SLE-1 model which is kinda basic (no remote start, no heated seats) but good for what i need. BEFORE YOU PURCHASE ONE, be aware that the 2017-2019 (maybe more??) years have “Shift to Park” issues. You have the shifter in Park, but the car does not think its in Park. So the car will not shut off and you can spend 5-60 minutes playing with the shifter or pushing the shifter button until it thinks its in Park. Its a known issue for several GM models and there are no recall’s and no real definite fix. A lot of theories of what can fix it, but no for-sure thing. Just google “Acadia shift to park” and read up on it yourself. I’ve dealt with this on my 2018 Malibu and now after two days after buying a 2019 Acadia, i find out i have the same issue with this. Its still under warranty so i took it back and the dealer replaced the shifter. We’ll see if that is a permanent fix?? Frustrated to say the least.

This new 2019 is a very good looking vehicle, with a lot of options included. I think the value or price of this vehicle is a little high with the new 2021 vehicles coming out in a few months. This vehicle has everything that we are looking for. I think it is comparable with the Chevy Traverse, Dodge Durango, and Ford Explorer.
