Used 2019 Ford Ranger for Sale nearPeterborough, ON

How much does the 2019 Ford Ranger cost?

Prices have softened 14.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 112 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers comparing used Rangers.

Is the 2019 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Ford Ranger earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its robust performance, advanced technology, good fuel economy, responsive engine behaviour, and strong towing capacity. That lines up well with the Ranger’s role as a midsize pickup for buyers who want capability without a more complicated powertrain lineup. If you value a truck that keeps the formula simple while still delivering useful work-truck ability, this year makes a strong case.

Only 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2019 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for its robust performance and strong towing capacity. The expert assessment also supports that impression by describing the 2.3-litre EcoBoost as a stout, eager engine, and noting that there’s no indication of issues so far with the turbocharged four-cylinder in this application. The cost-effectiveness commentary also reinforces the Ranger’s appeal as a capable, value-focused pickup.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a few production flaws and a recall history mean you should verify service records carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Ranger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is the most stripped-down version, with steel 16-inch wheels, a manual-locking tailgate, cloth upholstery, and a spartan four-speaker stereo, but it still includes a rear-view camera, USB port, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. The XLT adds more comfort and convenience, while the Lariat brings leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen, and 18-inch alloys.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It’s described as stout and eager, with strong fuel economy for the class, but the transmission can feel reluctant to shift unless you use Sport mode.
• Safety package: Co-Pilot360 adds auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and trailer tow monitoring, lane-keep warning and assist, forward and reverse parking sensors, and a 110-volt power outlet. Some safety equipment is not standard on the base trim.
• Infotainment: The XL includes Bluetooth, a rear-view camera, USB port, and Aux jack. Higher trims can be equipped with Sync 3, which adds Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM, and the Ranger also offers a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot and an optional Bang & Olufsen stereo.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates fuel consumption at 10.9 L/100 km combined, 11.8 L/100 km in the city, and 9.8 L/100 km on the highway.

Which 2019 Ford Ranger trim should I buy?

The 2019 Ford Ranger is offered in 3 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and can live with a basic cabin. It still gives you standard 4WD in Canada, a 6-foot bed, SuperCab packaging, and useful safety tech, so it suits buyers who care more about capability than comfort.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a 4.2-inch centre screen, a better stereo, and the ability to add Sync 3 with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. If you want the Ranger’s core strengths without feeling stripped out, this is the sweet spot.
• Lariat: This is the choice if you want the most comfort and convenience, with leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen, and 18-inch alloys. It’s the right fit if you want a more upscale daily driver.

The safety package is available as an add-on on lower trims, so check whether the truck you’re considering includes Co-Pilot360 or only the base safety equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Ranger?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 112 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,286 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $27,286 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,867 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Ranger has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier to attract interest when you eventually sell. A softer market today can also mean your purchase price is more favourable, but it may limit short-term appreciation if you plan to flip the truck quickly. For a future seller, the key advantage is that the Ranger still has a strong reputation for capability and value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Ford Ranger safe?

The 2019 Ford Ranger earns a four-star safety rating from NHTSA. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rates it Good in most tests, with Acceptable in the passenger-side small front-overlap test and Marginal headlights.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s available safety systems include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and trailer tow monitoring, lane-keep warning and assist, and forward and reverse parking sensors. The base XL includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, but some of the broader driver-assistance coverage is reserved for optional packages or higher trims.

The main caveat is the Marginal headlight result, along with the less-than-perfect pedestrian front crash prevention score.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It returns to North America with a simple single-engine, single-transmission formula and strong value.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $30,201 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,286 CAD average.
• It blends capability with technology and adds a more polished overall presentation.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better pick if you want the strongest value and don’t mind a simpler, work-focused setup. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2020 is worth considering, but price-sensitive buyers should start with the 2019 and shop carefully for a well-equipped example.
