Is the 2019 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in everyday use, with praise centred on comfort, fuel economy, and performance that helps you count on it for regular driving. Some buyers noted issues with older models, so a careful inspection and service-history review matter more on the used market. For you, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if you choose a well-maintained example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 672 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.16% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,718 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $14,718 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,348 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale expectations should stay realistic. If you plan to sell later, the current market suggests you may not recover as much as a buyer paid a year ago. Even so, a well-kept example with strong equipment and clean history should remain easier to move than a neglected one.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,422 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $14,718 CAD average.
• The 2020 adds a redesigned, more polished feel with multiple powertrain choices and standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and inventory is healthy. If you can stretch for a newer model and want a more refined, feature-rich Escape, the 2020 is the better upgrade path.
