Is the 2019 Dodge Journey a good car?

It can be a sensible choice if you value space and straightforward utility, but your satisfaction will depend on what matters most to you. The user rating is 3.6/5, and owners commonly highlight the spacious three-row seating, the powerful V6 engine, and the usefulness of all-wheel drive and heated seats in cold weather. Interior design also gets positive mention, while some reviewers want more storage and better acceleration. With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Dodge Journey reliable?

Owner feedback points to a mixed ownership experience rather than a clear reliability standout. Some reviewers describe it as dependable in everyday use and appreciate how it handles cold-climate driving, especially with all-wheel drive and heated seats. At the same time, concerns about safety features, the backup camera, and road stability suggest you should inspect any used example carefully before buying. For long-term ownership, a thorough pre-purchase inspection is especially important so you can reduce the risk of inheriting avoidable repair issues.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Dodge Journey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and focus on condition and price.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 70 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.86% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,910 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Dodge Journey's resale value?

The current average of $14,158 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,237 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face softer resale expectations than owners did a year ago. If you buy now, your best protection against depreciation is choosing a well-kept example at a strong price. A clean vehicle history and solid maintenance records should help you preserve more value when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2019 Dodge Journey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.86% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2019 is worth considering if you want a used SUV with usable space and you can find one priced near the lower end of the market. If you are price-sensitive, compare it carefully with nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the lowest sticker price alone.
