Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The feedback you see from owners centres on dependable, capable performance, with many saying it feels trustworthy for towing and hauling over the long term. That kind of repeat praise for reliability and durability is encouraging if you want a used heavy-duty truck you can count on.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the truck has been maintained properly, since heavy-duty use can magnify wear if service history is weak.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have some negotiating room if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 53 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.91% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,420 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $36,349 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,223 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck has been maintained. Strong demand for capable heavy-duty trucks can still support pricing, but you may not recover as much as owners did a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval and a softer price than it had a year ago, the 2019 is a sensible place to focus. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep watching listings for one that lands near the lower end of the range, since that is where the best value is most likely to show up.
