Is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. It stands out as a roomy midsize sedan with a more polished look than earlier versions, a larger and more open-feeling back seat, and easy-to-use cabin features. It is also a practical choice if you want space and a lower used price, even if it is not as refined as rivals such as the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. With 28.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2019 Malibu’s reliability record is described as mixed compared with the strongest rivals, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition when shopping used. For long-term ownership, that means a careful inspection matters more than usual if you want to reduce the risk of unexpected repair costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before committing.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 88 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,376 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $15,332 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,544 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Malibu is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly, which can make it easier to attract interest if you decide to sell later. The model’s roomy cabin and value-oriented positioning should help it appeal to practical shoppers, but the mixed reliability reputation may keep resale gains in check. If you maintain the car well and keep service records, you should be in a better position when it is time to list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Malibu makes sense if you want a roomy, value-focused midsize sedan with modernised features and a lower used price than many rivals. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a similar Malibu offers a better deal, but the 2019 is a sensible primary pick when condition and price line up.
