Is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu stands out as a roomy midsize sedan with good value, a more polished look than earlier versions, and a larger, more open-feeling back seat. It also offers easy-to-use features and useful technology, making it a practical choice if you want space and everyday usability without paying for a pricier rival. 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu’s reliability record is described as mixed compared with the strongest rivals, so you should go in with realistic expectations. Its appeal is more about value, comfort, and practicality than bulletproof reputation. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth weighing carefully against the car’s lower purchase price and roomy cabin.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 92 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,136 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $15,321 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,457 CAD.

That price movement suggests the 2019 Malibu has softened enough to be attractive on the used market, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The model’s value proposition should remain tied to its roomy cabin, practical features, and lower entry price than many rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu is the better pick if you want a roomy, good-value midsize sedan with updated styling and useful tech at a used-car price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years as well, but the 2019 is the stronger choice when you want the newer look and a market that still offers some deal opportunities.
