Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and good fuel economy, while also appreciating the powerful engine and the features that improve day-to-day usability. For you, that makes the 2019 Equinox a sensible pick if you want a compact SUV that prioritises passenger room and everyday practicality. With 27.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers highlighting a trouble-free feel, good fuel economy, and the kind of long-term usability that matters in a used family SUV. That said, you should still inspect any used example carefully, because long-term ownership risk depends heavily on maintenance history and overall condition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a worthwhile example.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 359 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,003 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $16,197 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,918 CAD.

That price movement suggests the 2019 Equinox has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the softer market means resale gains are unlikely to be strong unless your vehicle is in excellent condition and well equipped. Even so, the model’s broad appeal and practical cabin should help it remain easy to market to family-focused shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want a well-sorted third-generation Equinox with strong owner approval and a softer used price than it had a year ago. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2019 remains a strong choice for shoppers who value a roomy cabin and everyday practicality.
