CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Audi Q7

Summary
With 10 currently listed for sale and an average price of $38,600 CAD, 40.0% of 2019 Audi Q7 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Audi Q7 4.71 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Audi Q7 stands out as a three-row midsize luxury SUV that blends clean, angular styling with a practical cabin and strong road manners. It is instantly recognisable as an Audi, and its uncluttered design has aged well. Inside, the front and second rows are comfortable and spacious, while the third row is best suited to children. Cargo space is also a strength, with 419 litres behind the third row, 1,061 litres with that row folded, and a maximum of 2,027 litres.
For 2019, the Q7 offered a choice between a turbocharged, 252-horsepower 2.0-litre four-cylinder and a turbocharged, 333-hp 3.0-litre V6. The V6 is the better-balanced option, and it also enables 3,500 kilograms of towing capacity. The Q7 was already notable for its technology, including Audi Virtual Cockpit, a small infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It also had a strong safety reputation, having performed well in crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety since 2017.
There are trade-offs, though. The base turbo four does not provide enough power and has unimpressive fuel economy because it has to work hard. The cabin can also feel somewhat cold and technical, and headlight performance was consistently poor through 2023. Even so, the 2019 Audi Q7 remains appealing for buyers who want a refined, well-equipped luxury SUV with useful space, good driving dynamics, and a premium feel.

Reviewed a 2019 Audi Q7 on Mar 5, 2020
Have driven everything over the last five decades, Benz, Lexi, BMW & Audi. Plus all the domestics, Mazda & Nissan as well. Have had a 1st Gen Q7 TDI for the last four years and loved it. However, the 2nd Gen (& 2020) Q7 really is the best of all worlds in terms of the SUV experience. Best ergonomics, MMI & interior quality in its class (or any class for that matter). Adequate performance for a daily driver (SQ for sub 5 second adrenaline junkies), and an unparalleled ride quality at speed. Understanding that there are high quality designs from everyone these days (its a great time to buy an automobile), there remains a creme de la creme segment in terms of design & quality. My informed opinion is that Audi retains its lead in this segment, albeit narrowly, and the Q7 is the best definition of SUV you will find anywhere.

How much does the 2019 Audi Q7 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $26,211 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $24,949 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $32,582 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $30,481 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −14.01% |
Prices have softened 14.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 125 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2019 Audi Q7 a good car?
Yes — owners rate it 4.71/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The review summary highlights the quality and comfort of the interior, excellent ride quality, and good value compared with other luxury options. That fits a three-row midsize luxury SUV like the Q7 well if you want a refined family hauler with useful space and a premium feel. With 23.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Audi Q7 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise for the vehicle’s comfort and quality over time. That kind of long-term confidence matters in a used luxury SUV, where repair risk can weigh heavily on ownership costs. For used buyers, the main risk is less about day-to-day satisfaction and more about making sure the specific example has been maintained properly.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Audi Q7?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and compare listings.
- Deal availability: 23.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 125 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.01% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $24,949 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Audi Q7's resale value?
The current average of $26,211 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,481 CAD.
That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have less downside risk than someone who bought when prices were higher. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, especially for a luxury SUV with broad family appeal.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Audi Q7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 23.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.01% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $34,988 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $26,211 CAD average.
- It brings a thorough refresh with a more modern look and updated technology.
The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want a well-liked three-row luxury SUV and prefer to keep your purchase price in check. If you want the newer design and updated feel, the 2020 is the stronger upgrade, but you will pay notably more. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2019 is the smarter starting point.
