Is the 2018 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the WRX for its fun driving experience, strong performance, excellent handling, and accessible power. That lines up well with the WRX’s role as a practical sports sedan for buyers who want all-weather traction and engaging dynamics without giving up everyday usability. With 25.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers feel good about living with over time, especially because of its dependable performance and trouble-free appeal in daily use. The strongest reliability signal here is not a technical score, but the fact that owners repeatedly describe the car in positive long-term terms. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger ownership risk is less about the driving experience and more about finding a well-kept example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 124 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.48% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,370 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $18,370 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,519 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a good entry point for you as a buyer, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays steady. If you buy at the right price now, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. The WRX’s strong enthusiast appeal should help support demand, especially for clean, well-maintained examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want the WRX’s core formula with a more polished feel and you value the combination of performance, all-wheel drive, and everyday usability. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth considering, but the 2018 stands out as a balanced pick when you want the better-equipped, more refined version of this generation.
