Is the 2018 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.92/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers feel good about living with over time, especially because it is described as fun, capable, and dependable in daily use. The repeated praise for accessible performance and strong handling suggests a model that can be counted on to deliver the experience buyers expect from it. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a performance-oriented car can be more sensitive to how it was driven and maintained, so condition and service history matter.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 125 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,819 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $19,139 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,250 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you own one now, the current trend shows that resale values have eased rather than surged, so condition, mileage, and presentation will matter more when it is time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.92/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.92/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the sharper-looking, better-sorted version of this generation with strong owner approval, the 2018 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 stands out as a solid choice for shoppers who value driving enjoyment and all-wheel-drive practicality.
