Is the 2018 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 RAM 3500 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its heavy-towing capability, comfortable ride, and sturdy build, and they also appreciate its thoughtful design and fuel economy for a larger truck. With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 3500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 131 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $44,722 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $46,660 CAD sits slightly below last year's $48,451 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you're buying now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless the truck is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean. If you plan to sell later, the current market suggests steady demand rather than rapid appreciation. Strong condition, documented maintenance, and desirable equipment should matter more when it comes time to list it again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with proven owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal potential. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains the better all-around pick when you want a balance of capability, comfort, and current pricing.
