Is the 2018 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 RAM 1500 earns a 4.64/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, features, and value for money, and many also like its power and towing capability. It also fits well if you want a full-size pickup that feels more refined for everyday driving, with a roomy cabin and quality interior materials. With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2018 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that many people feel good about keeping, especially because it is seen as comfortable, well-equipped, and good value for money. Some reviewers did mention concerns such as the turn knob shifter and occasional acceleration issues, so you should still inspect any used example carefully. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but a thorough pre-purchase check is still important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,404 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,429 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $22,612 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,231 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the truck more attractive to buyers now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you buy at the current average or lower, you may have less room for depreciation pressure than someone who bought when prices were higher. Even so, the truck’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal should help support demand when it is time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used full-size pickup with a comfortable ride, a roomy cabin, and a well-finished interior, the 2018 is a strong choice. It makes the most sense if you value everyday refinement and can find a well-priced example. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a similar truck is available at a lower asking price.
