Is the 2018 Lexus NX a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Lexus NX earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its stylish, luxurious feel, good road handling, and gas economy, while some note that it could be a bit larger for comfort. That lines up well with its role as a compact luxury crossover for you if you want something distinctive, premium, and efficient rather than the most spacious option in the segment. With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value to be found if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Lexus NX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with owners highlighting its comfort, smoothness, and overall confidence over time. Lexus’s reputation for long-term durability fits that feedback well, and the NX’s appeal is reinforced by shoppers who want something they can count on. For used buyers, that suggests lower ownership risk than many luxury crossovers, especially if you choose a well-maintained example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 94 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,384 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $26,611 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,615 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the NX more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale expectations should be realistic rather than aggressive, especially if the vehicle is priced above the current market average. Even so, the NX’s premium image and strong owner satisfaction help support demand when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the NX with the updated safety and equipment package, the 2018 model year is the one to focus on. It makes the most sense if you value style, premium feel, and strong owner satisfaction, especially now that prices have eased. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby older year may be worth considering, but the 2018 is the better pick if you want the more complete version of the NX experience.
