2018 Land Rover Range Rover

To many, Land Rover is the first and last name in luxury SUVs. First introduced in 1970, the Range Rover set the benchmark for a capable SUV that provides luxurious passenger amenities. For 2018, Land Rover has made a number of minor changes inside and out for the Range Rover.
Exterior-wise, the 2018 Range Rover comes with a new front grille insert, LED head- and taillights, a reshaped front bumper, six new aluminum wheel designs, and two new color choices—Rossello Red and Byron Blue. Land Rover will offer the 2018 Range Rover in standard and long-wheelbase versions. The latter adds 7.3 inches to the wheelbase to provide more legroom for rear passengers.
Inside, Land Rover has revamped the Range Rover’s tech. The 10-inch instrument cluster display has been reconfigured to give the driver more choices in how information is displayed. Above the instrument cluster is a new 10-inch, color heads-up display that can show several items, such as navigation or the adaptive cruise control system, at once. Land Rover’s Touch Duo infotainment system that first debuted in the Range Rover Velar now comes standard. It is comprised of two 10-inch touchscreens. The top screen handles audio and navigation, and the bottom screen manages off-road settings and climate control. Other technology features for 2018 include 4G LTE with Wi-Fi, touch-capacitive sensors replacing many of the steering wheel and center stack buttons, and the ability to fold the rear seats via the Land Rover InControl smartphone application.
Passenger comfort has been further improved for the 2018 model year. Land Rover has widened the seats and added thicker padding to provide better comfort. The seats can be optioned with a 24-mode massage function. The Executive Seating package, standard on Autobiography models and optional on other trims, offers 24-way power adjustments and heated armrests for front passengers. The package gives rear seat passengers heated and cooled seats, and, on long-wheelbase models, heated footrests.
The powertrain lineup sees no real shakeup. The base is a supercharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder offering either 340 or 380 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. Next is a turbodiesel 3.0-liter 6-cylinder producing 254 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Rounding out the lineup is a 5.0-liter supercharged 8-cylinder offering either 518 hp and 461 lb-ft or 557 hp and 516 lb-ft. All engines will come paired with an 8-speed automatic and a full-time 4-wheel-drive platform with Land Rover’s Terrain Response system. A plug-in hybrid powertrain offering up to 31 miles of electric-only range will become available later this summer.
For safety, the 2018 Range Rover comes with a full set of airbags, traction and stability control, reversing camera, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and speed limiter. A number of active safety features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and an exit monitor that alerts passengers to hazards behind them are available as options.
Pricing for the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover begins at $87,350 for the SE with the supercharged 6-cylinder and climbs to $177,200 for the SVAutobiography Dynamic.
