Is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its features, spaciousness, smooth ride, good value, and 4X4 capability, which fits well if you want a compact SUV with everyday usability and some genuine Jeep character. The 2018 Cherokee is especially appealing if you want all-weather traction and a more adventurous feel without moving up to a larger, more truck-like SUV. With 29.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable for daily use, with praise centred on its smooth ride, features, and overall value. That kind of satisfaction suggests the Cherokee can be a trouble-free choice for buyers who prioritise comfort and capability. For used shoppers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been well maintained and suits your expectations for a compact SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 414 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,484 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $15,929 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,585 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have less downside risk than someone who bought when prices were higher. The Cherokee’s broad appeal as a comfortable, well-equipped SUV with available 4X4 hardware should help support demand, especially among shoppers looking for value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Cherokee makes the most sense if you want a used compact SUV with strong owner approval, useful features, and available 4X4 capability at a softer price point. If you’re price-sensitive, this year is worth a close look because the market has moved down and there are still a fair number of listings to compare. If you want to shop across nearby years, you may also want to compare against later versions if updated tech and styling matter more to you than current pricing.
