The user feedback highlights reliability, and drivers also describe the car as dependable and comfortable for everyday use. Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 124 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.44% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,331 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $12,337 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,252 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition when it is time to trade in or list the car. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less room for appreciation later, so resale value depends heavily on how well you control your purchase price. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Sonata makes the most sense if you want a value-focused midsize sedan with strong owner approval and you can find one priced near the lower end of the market. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2018’s stronger market position.
