Is the 2018 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 4.71/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, reliability, fuel economy, safety features, and technology, while the Civic’s stylish, sporty character helps it appeal to a wide range of drivers. For you, that means this model year fits especially well if you want efficient, practical, and affordable transportation that still feels enjoyable to drive. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, which is exactly what you want from a used compact car. That said, you should still budget for a careful inspection, because any used vehicle can carry age-related wear that affects long-term ownership costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Civic?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 644 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,542 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $16,648 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,445 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if prices stay soft. If you plan to sell later, the current entry point is helpful, but you should still expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,625 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $16,648 CAD average.
• It adds a broader lineup with more body styles and engine choices.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want the better value and are focused on efficiency, safety, and everyday usability. If you are willing to pay more for a slightly newer model with a broader range of configurations, the 2019 is the better secondary path for you.
