Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 672 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,542 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $16,710 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,078 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If prices stay near the current range, future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Even so, the Civic’s broad appeal should help support steady demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,370 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $16,710 CAD average.
• It adds only minor refinements while keeping the same polished, variety-rich formula.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the better value and are comfortable with a model that already delivers the Civic’s core strengths. If you are willing to pay more for a slightly newer example, the 2019 is the cleaner secondary path, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2018 the smarter buy.
