Is the 2018 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, reliability, fuel economy, safety features, and technology, while the Civic’s stylish, sporty character helps it appeal to a wide range of drivers. It also fits well if you want efficient, safe, practical, and affordable transportation with more room and polish than many compact cars. With 28.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, dependable day-to-day use, and a car that many drivers feel comfortable counting on over time. That said, used buyers should still watch for wear items and condition differences, since long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how each individual car was maintained.

What is the 2018 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $16,652 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,410 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale upside may be more limited if the market stays competitive. If you plan to sell later, the Civic’s broad appeal should help, especially because shoppers continue to value its efficiency, practicality, and reputation. Strong owner satisfaction can also support demand when it is time to list.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,626 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $16,652 CAD average.
• It adds only minor refinements to an already strong formula.

The bottom line: Choose the 2018 if you want a well-rounded Civic with strong owner approval and better pricing than the next model year. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2018 is the smarter starting point; if you want the newer year and do not mind paying more, the 2019 is the alternative to compare.
