Is the 2017 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Honda Civic earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2017 Honda Civic reliable?

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and it also describes the Civic as a dependable, trouble-free daily driver with strong long-term appeal. This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

What is the 2017 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $15,527 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,712 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Civic has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. Because the current average is close to the year-round low, there may be less room for further sharp drops than there was a year ago. Strong owner satisfaction can also help keep demand healthy when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,066 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,527 CAD average.
• The redesign brought a more polished and desirable feel.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2017 if you want the stronger all-around balance of value, owner satisfaction, and current market availability. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the better price-first alternative, especially if you find one in good condition.
