This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

What is the 2018 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $20,379 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,376 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive point, but it also suggests future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays cool. If you plan to sell later, the current trend means your best protection is buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition. Demand should remain steady because this model year still appeals to shoppers who want comfort, space, and practicality.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $22,616 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $20,379 CAD average.
• It adds a more refined, roomy feel with strong fuel economy and lively performance.

The bottom line: Choose the 2018 if you want the better value play and are focused on comfort, space, and everyday usefulness. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-feeling alternative with a stronger emphasis on refinement and efficiency, the 2019 is the better secondary path for you.
