Is the 2018 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the value, comfort, and impressive features, along with the spacious interior, good gas mileage, and advanced tech options. For you, that makes the CR-V a sensible fit if you want a practical compact crossover for commuting, small-family duty, and everyday usefulness. Is the 2018 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, with buyers repeatedly highlighting its reliability and long-term value. That matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for regular commuting and family errands. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying too much for a well-liked model, so condition and maintenance history still matter.

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 783 listings available.

What is the 2018 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $20,359 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,477 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale expectations should stay realistic unless the vehicle is exceptionally clean, well maintained, and well equipped. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, but the broader market trend still points to a softer resale environment than a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $22,365 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $20,359 CAD average.
• It adds a more refined, roomy feel with strong efficiency and lively performance.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2018 if you want the better value and a wider pool of listings to compare. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-year option with a more polished feel, the 2019 is the better upgrade; if price matters most, the 2018 remains the smarter buy.
