Is the 2018 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 4.73/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the CR-V for its great value, comfort, and impressive features, and many also highlight the spacious interior, good gas mileage, and advanced tech options. In practical terms, that lines up well with this model year’s role as a roomy, efficient compact crossover for everyday use. With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for comfort, value, and the kind of ownership experience people can count on. That said, some shoppers do mention a high price tag and a few missing features, so you should still inspect condition and equipment carefully on any used example. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying too much for a well-liked SUV without getting the trim and features you expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 825 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.09% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,415 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $20,517 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,606 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current softness means you may need to price competitively to stand out. Even so, the CR-V’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it’s time to list.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $22,388 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $20,517 CAD average.
• It adds a more refined, historically reliable feel with lively performance.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you’re willing to spend more for the next year’s added refinement and don’t mind the higher asking price, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
