Why it stands out
The 2018 GMC Canyon stands out as a midsize pickup that leans more towards refinement than many buyers expect from the segment. By this point in the second generation, the Canyon had already built a reputation for offering a more luxurious feel than many rivals, and that character is especially evident in the Denali trim. It also appeals to shoppers who want a smaller, more manoeuvrable alternative to a full-size truck, with enough capability for everyday use without the bulk of a larger pickup.
What makes the 2018 model particularly distinctive is the breadth of equipment available across the lineup. The Canyon could be had with a crew cab or extended cab body style, and the trim walk ranged from practical to upscale. The SLE brought an eight-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar telematics, and Siri Eyes Free control for iPhones, while the SLT added automatic climate control, remote start, leather seats, and heated front seats. The Denali pushed the luxury angle further with 20-inch chrome wheels, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a Bose premium audio system, and a wireless charging pad. For buyers who wanted more capability, the available All-Terrain package added off-road hardware such as all-terrain tyres, an off-road-tuned suspension, a locking rear differential, hill descent control, and front recovery hooks.
There are trade-offs, though. The Canyon’s strengths in comfort and equipment come with a higher price than its Chevrolet Colorado twin, and the guide notes that past versions trailed contemporary rivals in some respects. Even so, the 2018 GMC Canyon remains appealing because it combines a polished cabin, a wide variety of trims and options, and enough off-road and towing-oriented hardware to suit buyers who want a truck that feels a little more upscale than the norm.

While not having a lot to compare it to, it appears so far to be a strong running engine (2.8 Duramax) . The seating seams hard in contrast to my last truck (2500 HD ) , both being Denali versions with leather seats . The fuel mileage is outstanding averaging low to mid 30s . The electronics package is full of creature comforts including heated and cooled seats . Overall a nice ride.

The Denali is over priced and I will continue to shop for a 2017-2019 Denali preferably with SLT as a second choice
