Is the 2018 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle people feel good about keeping over time, with comments centred on dependable everyday use, value, and a trouble-free ownership experience. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger risk is less about broad satisfaction and more about finding a well-kept example with the features you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 739 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,108 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $13,108 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,737 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the vehicle easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, that means condition, mileage, and equipment will matter even more when it comes time to set your asking price. A model that is already trading below its prior average can still hold value well if demand stays steady and the vehicle presents cleanly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Ford Escape makes sense if you want a well-liked used SUV with a meaningful price drop and enough inventory to compare options. If you are price-sensitive, the 2018 is especially appealing right now; if you are comparing nearby years, focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
