Ive been driving a journey for 5 years now and I like the car so much that this is the third one I have purchased. I love the amount of leg room and the fact that I dont have to climb up to get into it and I dont have to sit down far to get into it. It drives smooth and this particular journey has many extra features on it that I really enjoy. Such as a sun roof, Bluetooth, Backup camera, and larger viewable screen on the dash. I highly recommend this vehicle.

I love the way the car handles and has great pick up and go. It also runs smooth like a luxury SUV I feel safe in it and that is important for my wife and I who travel quite often.

Good value for basic version. No internet connection. Good stereo system. Handles well on wet roads and interstate highway driving. I love my journey, I will get it upgraded and keep it. Good gas mileage.

How much does the 2018 Dodge Journey cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,632 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $12,348 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $15,054 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $15,087 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −16.27% |
Prices have softened 16.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 183 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.
Is the 2018 Dodge Journey a good car?
Yes — the 2018 Dodge Journey earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spaciousness and comfort, especially for family use, and many also like the heated seats and touchscreen interface. The current market also shows 27.3% of listings as good or great deals, which adds to its appeal if you are shopping carefully.
Is the 2018 Dodge Journey reliable?
Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable for everyday family use, with comfort and practicality standing out as recurring strengths. That said, some shoppers note concerns about fuel economy, so long-term ownership may feel better suited to buyers who value space and comfort more than efficiency.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Dodge Journey?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right price.
- Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 183 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.27% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $12,348 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Dodge Journey's resale value?
The current average of $12,632 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,087 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests future sellers may face more competition if the market stays loose. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The Journey’s family-friendly appeal and comfort-focused reputation can help support demand, especially among shoppers looking for practical transportation.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 Dodge Journey or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.27% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a used SUV with strong owner satisfaction, family-friendly space, and a market that has become more favourable for buyers, the 2018 is the primary year to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you can also compare nearby years and use the softer pricing trend to negotiate more aggressively.
