Is the 2018 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2018 Chevrolet Trax is a small, practical, easy-to-live-with subcompact SUV that blends a higher driving position and extra space with the manoeuvrability and fuel efficiency of a sedan. It is especially appealing if you want an affordable, city-friendly crossover with useful everyday features such as smartphone integration and a flexible cabin layout. With 28.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a decent amount of market value to explore.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2018 Chevrolet Trax is described as a practical, budget-conscious crossover with straightforward everyday usability, which can be appealing if you want something simple to live with. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a neglected example, so a careful inspection matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 105 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,659 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $13,112 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,421 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has softened, which can make it easier for you to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current market points to steady but not especially strong appreciation potential. The Trax’s practical appeal should still help it remain relevant with budget-minded shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a small, practical, city-friendly crossover with useful equipment and a lower asking price than it had a year ago, the 2018 Trax is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a better-equipped or similarly priced example gives you more value for your budget.
