How much does the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 11.89% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 84 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, efficiency, and the quality of the ride, and many also like the quick acceleration and the more upscale feel of the Premier trim. That fits well if you want a roomy, good-value midsize sedan with easy-to-use technology and a practical family-car layout. With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some attractive market value to find.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on comfort, efficiency, and the sense that it is a car you can count on day to day. That kind of response suggests the Malibu has earned trust over time rather than just a short-term appeal.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about owner sentiment and more about making sure the specific car has been maintained properly, since condition will matter a lot on a sedan at this age.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 84 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.89% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,691 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $12,984 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,737 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the right number now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. The model’s broad appeal as a comfortable, efficient midsize sedan should help keep it relevant with used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Malibu is a smart pick if you want a roomy, comfortable midsize sedan with strong owner approval and a market that has become more buyer-friendly. If your priority is value, this year looks especially appealing. If you are shopping strictly on price, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2018 gives you a solid mix of satisfaction, inventory, and softened pricing.
